Nagagalit man sila sa atin but we know she means well!

Indeed, she lives in our heads rent-free dahil sa mga iconic lines niya, especially when teaching the value of money. Let’s explore some of these timeless phrases that make us think twice about our financial choices:

No matter how old we get, iba pa rin talaga mag-alaga ang isang ina. This is just her way of reminding us of the importance of being financially independent and responsible even after she’s gone.

Isipin mo na lang this is her way to prevent us from spending our cash impulsively, ensuring it’s saved for more important expenses.

Like it or not, our mothers love to imply that our extravagant tendencies come from our other parent.

Again, our spending habits are to blame for this one. Pero tama nga naman siya (as always!) as money doesn’t grow on trees.

But it’s true, we must conserve electricity and be mindful of unnecessary expenses like leaving appliances running.

We’ve all been there, it’s part of growing up!

That knowing sigh and shaking of her head made us realize the importance of listening to her advice...

Not only does this give a sense of accomplishment for her children but also for herself. It’s one step ahead to avoid repeating the same financial struggles she and your father had faced.

“Tandaan mo, magiging magulang ka rin.”

Pagkatapos ng sermon usually comes the lesson. This is Mama’s simple way of saying that the financial habits we cultivate now will influence our children’s upbringing.

This reassuring one-liner is truly comforting to hear, that despite her sermons, she’s proud of our efforts to be financially responsible!

While these savage lines may elicit groans and eye rolls, ‘di mo ipagkakaila na tama naman palagi si Mama na talaga namang mapapa-reflect ka on your spending habits, and other habits mo sa life. As we navigate our budgets, let’s cherish these iconic phrases as reminders of Mama’s timeless wisdom.

Happy Mother’s Day!
